John Williams, President, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco

John Williams has served as President and CEO of the San Francisco Fed since 2011. He holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.S. from the London School of Economics, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.

The SOMC, under the auspices of the Manhattan Institute, is an independent group of economists that provides external perspectives on policy choices by the Federal Reserve and other leading central banks. The SOMC addresses a wide range of macroeconomic issues, including monetary policy, banking and financial regulations, and fiscal-policy matters that bear on monetary-policy decisions.
